Translation is whispered in the ear of the listener without any sound system.
This form of interpreting works for a maximum of 3-4 people.
Two interpreters are needed for a full day’s work.
One interpreter for a shorter amount of time.
The interpreter’s opinion
This solution often blends in well with consecutive interpreting. Costs of interpreting equipment can be optimised, since in most cases no sound rental costs are involved. Conversely, chuchotage can be very tiring for listeners. The Infoport system, mostly useful for training courses, factory visits or in all those cases where people move around may be particularly suitable.
For the organiser
Please, remember to provide the agenda and any other useful information.
Remember: the intepreter needs to sit/stand next to the speaker.
